How i can help

When someone dies, it's natural to feel overwhelmed and unsure

of the choices available.

Whether you're arranging a traditional funeral, a celebration of life,

a memorial, direct cremation, or a scattering of ashes ceremony,

I'm here to help you through the process with care and compassion.

My services

A personalised funeral service where I work with your Funeral Director, celebrating your loved one's life through stories, memories, music and readings that reflect who they were.

A less traditional ceremony focused on the person's life, personality and the memories they've left behind - held wherever feels right, from a crematorium to a family home. I work with your funeral director or independently.

A meaningful opportunity to gather after a funeral or direct cremation, giving family and friends time to remember, reflect and celebrate together.

A simple, personal ceremony in a place that held special meaning for your loved one.

Drawing on my professional background in television and storytelling I also create legacy videos and life story films. Many families tell me they worry that treasured memories will fade over time; these films preserve stories, family history and personal reflections, creating something that can be shared for generations.  Starting from £350 depending on the level of archive and detail required.  Photo tributes if not being done by your Funeral Director from around £75.

My Approach

Every family I work with is different, but a few things stay the same, whatever kind of ceremony we're creating together.

How It Works

1. A first conversation — by phone or in person, at no cost and with no obligation. We'll talk about what you need and I'll answer any questions.

2. We meet at a place convenient for you - to talk about your loved one and gather the stories and memories that will shape the ceremony. This may include music they loved, hobbies, and books or poems they treasured. I can share and send ideas for poems, readings and music. This normally takes 1-2 hours.

3. I write a first draft of the ceremony - the eulogy, poems you want to include, the music you've chosen, if you're having a photo tribute.  I send this to you to read through, change and check.

4. Final draft completed and signed off – a final Order Of Service is created and printed for the day by your Funeral Director or myself if working independently.

5. The day itself —I work with your Funeral Director and Venue to ensure the service runs smoothly. I'll conduct the ceremony with warmth and care, so you and your family can be fully present.

Fees are discussed openly at our first conversation, with no obligation to go ahead, around £250 - £350, plus mileage, but normally these are part of your Funeral Director's costs.

Every ceremony is written from scratch because every life is unique.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT ME

"Emma worked closely with me and my immediate family to prepare and deliver a beautiful, poignant and moving ashes scattering ceremony for my brother who was taken from us too soon.  Emma's knowledge and support in the lead up and her presence on the day were just what we needed as a family.  Emma helped us incorporate a beautiful poem that my brother had written into the ceremony, she has a gift with language and expressing deep emotions.  I would highly recommend Emma to anyone wanting to mark the passing of a loved one without stress and with great dignity and beauty."
